I hope that we can get this site talked about a little bit in the Mess and get some more folks to sign in. There's some good conversation to be had here!
I want to provide a little bit of information about the forum and how I foresee it operating from this point forward. I have put a decent amount of effort into installing the forum software and the database as well as configuration parameters and code modifications in order to make this a good place to discuss issues that are pertinent to the Chief Petty Officer community.
One thing that was added today is that all new registrations have a new special field that is required to be filled in with Rank and Rate information. This will help me to verify who is allowed to be here and who isn't. If you're not sure about someone, feel free to ask them for their credentials. Only Authentic Chief Petty Officers are allowed in this forum. I am considering adding a couple more fields like "Last Duty Station", "Date of Rate", etc. Let me know what you think.
Once we get a few more users, I plan to lock the forum so that guests cannot view forums or topics. This will help to ensure that "What's said in the Mess stays in the Mess".
